Since 2001 a band lead by George Campling rang a series of peals in a variety of new major methods, mostly delight, that are named after Italian wines, or in a few cases Italian regions. The methods are generally of medium difficulty and capable of having attractively musical compositions true to them, and form an interesting and varied set of methods. All the methods have been devised by George, and all the first peals in them were rung for the Lancashire Association, conducted by George. Most of the earlier methods were first rung at Burnley before it was augmented to ten, although a few were first rung at Walkden. The augmentation of Burnley led to a couple of years' hiatus in the series, but it has now been restarted, with peals at Heywood. Several of these methods have subsequently attracted the attention of other bands, too.
This web page contains a variety of compositions in all of the Italian wine methods that have been rung as of 18 February 2008, including all the compositions used so far for the first performances. Compositions of these methods in this collection also appear in their natural, alphabetic place among the pages of individual delight methods They are also all collected on this page for the convenience of bands that may wish to investigate them as a series.
