There are three series of twelve methods apiece named after months: one of surprise methods, one of delight methods, and another of delight methods where the names are the French names for the months. The methods of this last series were first rung in 1996-1998. Many ringers consider this to be the most varied and interesting of these three sets of methods. The methods were devised by Roger Baldwin, Richard Tibbetts, and Peter Windley. The first peals in them were organized by Alan Ainsworth, and were conducted by Alan, Roger, and Bill Butler, using compositions from a variety of different composers, and rung for several different Guilds. Since their first performance all have been rung again several times, sometimes individually and sometimes as part of a series of monthly peal attempts. An article discussing these methods, written by Alan, appeared in The Ringing World Christmas double issue of 1998, pp1248-1249.

They are also all collected on this page for the convenience of bands that may wish to tackle them as a series.
